Hi Cashme:
I am planning on traveling to Texas since my brother was given a scholarship to study in a University there and he is too young to live by himself.
My question is:
What should I think about traveling to Texas?
At the moment of the reading the last line one of the coins fell to the floor, I did not do another tossing but draw the hexagram using that result. The time and place of the reading is Atlanta, GA, June 10, 2008, 11:10 pm.
Thank you again.

The question you posted was too difficult for me to answer. The angle for the question to be read into is too wide and general at the same time. You have not indicated the time or day you intended to travel with him though the purpose was given. An I Ching reader is certainly not a psychic reader.
Given this hex, I will try to shed some light on the message if it is of any relevant to what you may have anticipated.
The self line is pretty weak for it is killed by the month and weaken by the day. Furthermore it is empty. The self line together with the appointed star Bc and the date e try form a metal combo to strengthen yourself, but unfortunately is not supported by the fire month. So the self remains pretty weak, which may be translated as you being rather indecisive to undertake the journey with him. You need to anticipate the unexpected, for this hexagram indicated opposing forces in the inner and outer gua. Fire being the outer gua has a exhaustive relationship with the inner gua represented by marshes. This would somehow indicated some form of argument or dispute over something that is spoken to some one with authority and influence . How you act and react to the dispute during the trip will determine the degree of hidden dangers. It may be wise not to disagree with someone during the trip.
The place your brother intended to go appears to be suitable for him but I am a bit concern that the gain to be made in terms of studies appears not that very promising. The gain star being water and hidden and will have little chance to surface under a powerful bearer. That aspects of the studies may need to be given due consideration.
You can make some I Ching search on the weh and read this hex 35 yourself. Alex's materials tend to focus on "Will xx happen or When will soemthing happen. Very specify question that seeks a a specific answer. Most other authors focus on images and textual reading. That creative and imaginative inferences are best for general questions like the one you posted.
Hope this sharing may be of use to you.

Again you did a very good job. Although my relationship with my brother is very strong and I really want to help him, I am very hesitant to do this trip. Thank you for your insight in this reading I really appreciate your effort.
About that other reading, the one with the girl, I have to admit that most likely you are going to be right, as we had a serious discussion that probably put me out of the game, although not completely empty-handed... But, yes, sadly for me, as I was really interested in her, you were right, and I was clinging to some last hope. So far, your reading could not be more accurate.
Well, I need some guidance on how did you approach Alex's website, as it feels overwhelming. Where did you start? How do you check it? Do you use any structure to approach a reading? How do you use the I Ching on a daily basis? Your approach is relevant as your readings have been accurate at least in my case.
Thank you again for your time.
There isn’t any specific method I used. If you observe carefully how Alex’s had done all the readings given, you will notice his focus was based more on the nature of the questions to be answered.
He gave focus to moving lines, especially the Appointed line, and the U line in relation to the J line. He noted carefully the empty dates, and how the empty dates affected two special areas: the J and U line and the two middle lines that are sandwiched between J & U.
He noted carefully the timing of events to be unfold, with specific reference to how the current date at the time the hex was generated has affected the real moving line, the non-real (silent) moving line, etc.
Though his readings were done to illustrate the point he wanted to emphasize (for he wrote from the view point of “teaching” or imparting knowledge), he never deviated from what needed to be answered.
He wrote Superiching not much so as to entertain, but more to provide a rich pool of “database” of I Ching hexagrams for any interested persons to further investigate the beauty and profound hidden meanings. Any one who studies closely his examples will be able to discover and re-discover and benefit profoundly his unselfish contribution in I Ching.
He did not conceal but instead reveal the simplicity of learning I Ching. Other writers may choose to mystify I Ching whereas he chose to demystify it. His coding system is so clean and neat to enable us to stay focus on the matter at hand rather than be distracted by the unfamiliar, wordy and ineffective languages and images, had he strictly translated SuperIChing from the traditional sources.
He is someone very gifted and had profound understanding of the I Ching, having read more than 30 I Ching (Chinese) books and spent countless hours in writing out his reading and experiences with I Ching. If given the opportunity to learn I Ching, I would choose to personally visit him and learn from him.
Where did I start?
I started by not so much as based on Chapters, but rather on the nature of the questions. I study the nature of the questions posted in his examples and how he approached them. I try to do my own readings based on his examples and compared my answers with his. His consistency and non=contradiction of the I Ching rules he noted, shared and developed as well as defended impressed me so much. Superficially from time to time I may think he is incorrect, but upon further investigation and reflection, I can not but admit that I am the one who is incorrect for failing to recall the relevant rules or noted and or compared the minor differences but significant implications. If you have a good memory and is attentive to details without losing on the real issue at hand, and if you have a good recall memory system, surely your ability and skill and the time frame you need to master I Ching will be further enhance. Without a good recall system, you will somehow need more time and increase frequency to edge the I Ching materials into your brain.
How do you check it? Do you use any structure to approach a reading?
I do not have a good memory and I can not visualize the elemental relationship amongst lines and characters. Thus I read I Ching with paper and five colored pens. The five colors are the five elements (qi) that assists me to see the relationship more clearly. Without colored pens and paper, I will not be able to do any reading without missing on some essential points. Literary I painted the I Ching in pictorial form, certainly not in sentences. Simply I add some additional notations. Its something similar to doing algebra with scientific notations.
If you are to ask me to read the same hex, chances are that I would have to redo the reading anew. Unlikely that I can reuse the earlier notations for they are so messy that I myself will not be able to understand.
How do I use the I Ching on a daily basis? I seldom use it for myself as I always find it more difficult to do my own reading. But I do it for people close to me, more as to help them to anticipate certain outcomes. Because I need to translate to other the messages, I write them down. Else more often than not, there will not be any written down materials.
For important issue I use I Ching. More as time saver, resource efficiency and preventive measure. I Ching knowledge has helped me in many ways in viewing life as a flow and appreciate the time and circumstances at any given moment
