I am new to the Super I Ching method, and I have found it kind of confusing, but I am working on it. I think this is very interesting and if it really works can make life so much easier given that it is possible to foresee the results of our efforts, saving us time.

I am still exploring all the areas of Super I Ching, but I think it is very subjective, and sometimes it is hard to define its real meaning.

Today I would like to invite the advanced members of super I Ching to be more objective using numbers to measure the health and the influence of stars, elements, combos, retreating, advancing, moving lines, emptiness of elements, etc. to make it easier to get the right answer from the oracle. That way it is possible to get a more scientific approach to the I Ching and we can decide if we are using our time towards a worthwhile target, which the human specie can benefit from, or we are simply tossing coins hoping that our reading is the correct one, getting simply codes leading to nowhere.

I am thinking of something like a points system and a hierarchical organization of the reading. Defining clearly how to know which is the appointed, and the strength of the influence of each relationship. Initially we can work on a format that will make easier the reading and after we get results of the reading, then we write what we think is going to be the result making it measurable through numbers, then we compare that to the real life and we can know if it is really working or we are simply accommodating the results.

I am thinking of something like this:

Appointed star begins with (let’s say 10) points.
Helper of the appointed is (this), it adds (whatever) points to the appointed, if hurt by the month or date only take (this) percentage of the points.
Enemy of the appointed is (this), it substracts (whatever) points to the appointed
Month/date adds/ substracts whatever points to the appointed
Killing/producing adds/ substracts whatever points to the appointed
Combos adds/ substracts whatever points to the appointed
Bounding/striking brings this or that line to our attention and thus, it has this or that influence on the appointed. Therefore it adds/substracts (whatever) points to the appointed.
According to this we have (let’s say 90% of probability) of (this) being the final outcome on date/month/year (this).

And that way we can build and algorithm that would take away the subjectivity of the reading will allow the readers to get a better understanding of the different relationships among lines and among stars. And the most important of all, we can make sure we are not simply playing to be prophets, but we are really measuring the results we are getting making it possible to widen the uses of the I Ching to already established disciplines that have a more scientific approach. I do not mean that the final interpretation will be totally accurate, but we can get better readings if we use a systematic approach that let’s us make sure that all the elements are taken into account.

Again I want to make clear that I am very enthusiastic about the I Ching, all I want is to make it possible for people to approach it with more confidence and diminish the subjectivity of the reading.

So why not open a new forum where we can work together, with a critic view of an activity with which we are fascinated, led by those who are most experienced.
