Hi Everybody smile.gif

It's almost midnight here and I should be sleeping but I feel like I need to stay awake and see what the storm brings my way.

The Hurricane just made land fall about a half hour ago. Making land fall means that is when the eye of the hurricane comes onto land.... which means that the forward part of the Hurricane has already been pounding the heck out of people, places and things long before the eye arrives BUT the wind around the eye is more intense, as a smaller area with 100+ mile an hour winds going around in a circle and with the wind and rain also comes the vaccume of the hurricane which is a sight to behold... OR... actually I hope to never see one again.

At this time the course of the hurricane is still unpredictable. I know from being in Hurricane Charley that it can turn and change directions at any time. We had about 2 hours notice that that hurricane was headed straight for our town. Until it really hit I could not have imagined the intensity of the power of such a storm.

Thankfully this hurricane that is now plumeting the east coast of Florida is only a catagory 2 which is bad enough in itself but it won't do the devistaton that a catagory 4 will do and did to this town of Port Charlotte that I live in.
We are definetly getting the outer band of rain and wind from the storm right now and it's really blowing hard, and since being in a hurricane 3 weeks ago I am a little bit paranoid sitting here listening to the storm outside. At least when Charley hit it was during the day so we could 'see' what was happening. Having this one come in the dead of night is a bit un-nerving!

I just wanted to say hi and thank UK Anon for my reading on the hurricane so I feel a bit safer.... BUT... you should hear the wind outside it's so loud.
That reminds me!!! I forgot until just now at how incredibly LOUD it was when the hurriane was here 3 weeks ago. It sounded like a 747 flying right through the house.

A special hello to Horse, Aussie and Madison. I haven't seen you guys on here for quite awhile and I hope and pray that you are all ok.

Good night and Blessings to one and all,
Ces smile.gif

Hello again smile.gif

I've meant to write more about the hurricane that was recently here but from hour to hour we either have no phone or no DSL, thankfully the power never did go out and I think that's because all the power lines and poles were replaced about a week and a half ago so they are new and strong I guess.

Hurricane Frances did cause some trouble here in Port Charlotte but not to the degree that Hurricane Charley did. With this hurricane came lots more flooding, which is receeding now but some people really 'got it'!

I live near a canal that goes out into Charlotte Harbor and it flooded but did not come into this house I live in but it definetly came over the sea wall and up into the yard about 4 feet, so it was a bit never wracking!!!

With the flooding came 'snakes'.. and I mean real ones and the worst kind! Today I was out on the patio and saw a Water Moccasin not 4 feet from me... I screamed and ran into the house... talk about almost having a heart attack! That snake is one of the deadlist in the world. You've only got something like 10 or 15 minutes to get the anidote before you die. Not a nice thought !!!
So now I am being much more careful walking around anywhere. Finally the 'thing' slithered out of the patio and into the back yard which still is not too comforting cause at the end of the patio is a wall made of aluminum and big screens and this last hurricane ripped those screens right out and now they just look like shreds, like someone took a knife to them! Amazing at what wind can do huh?

My home page is CNN so I see it each time I log on to the net. The one for the States doesn't show anything about the new Hurricane Ivan that just devistated the Island of Grenada, I had to go to the International page to find out that information. It makes me so mad that this country does not report the 'real' news.. like not telling us there's this gigantic hurricane coming is going to make it go away.

I'm still sitting here waiting for my car to get fixed. The transmission went out of it last Wednesday night as I was driving home from the beach (20 miles away) so I could pack my car and leave the next morning to get out of the way of the hurricane. I did have a somewhat calmer feelling since UK Anon had done a reading for me as to whether or not I would be ok during the storm and he said it looked like I would.

I'm really done with this state. Too many hurricanes for my liking and too many snakes and alligators. I know I'm just building a case against Florida but I think I'm just gonna go back out west. Atleast when a rattelesnake is around you can usually hear them PLUS there's not 32 other deadly snakes you have to watch for, just one!!!

I just wanted to say hi and writing calms me down, I always feel so much better when I write smile.gif and I thank you for your time in sitting down with me for awhile and visiting.

Ciao for now,
Ces
